Zack Garland and Family Recovery
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Trey Beam and I am fundraising for my coworker Firefighter Zach Garland.
On April 25, 2024, the Pike County 2 Crew of the Kentucky Division of Forestry was actively working a wildfire when Zach got critically injured. Zach was building fireline and the fire behavior drastically changed, cutting off his escape route. Crew members immediately called for EMS and Zach was flown to Huntington, WV burn center where he remains at this time. Zach is medically stable, but faces a very long road to recovery. He suffered second and third degree burns amongst his face, arms, hands and knees.
As a first responder, Zach was protecting our Kentucky land, as well as wild horses, homes and civilians from losing their lives and property. Zach has fought courageously. He is a dad to two young children, one of which was just born the day following his injury. At this time, we ask for any contribution to assist with out-of-pocket expenses for medical bills, travel, lodging, and lost wages. We ask that you think of Zach and his family as they endure a very long road ahead.
