Zach Schwartz Scholarship Fund (Closed-2022)

I am Margie Schwartz, and I am raising funds on behalf of the Zach Schwartz Family Charitable Fund. This fund supports an annual scholarship for a graduating high school senior in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. The fund was created in memory of my son, Zach Schwartz, who grew up in Annapolis and attended Annapolis High School. Zach was killed in a vehicle accident in Wyoming on September 1, 2015, en route to Maryland, following a trip to the national parks and to visit various friends throughout the country. He was 28 years old.

Zach Schwartz grew up in Annapolis, Maryland, graduating from Annapolis High School in 2005. He played several sports -- lacrosse, soccer, wrestling and indoor track. Zach was an avid reader and full of trivial knowledge. He loved the outdoors and spending time with his friends, and he was always proud to tell people that he was from Annapolis.

In his memory, we have established the Zach Schwartz Scholar-Athlete Scholarship, administered through Scholarships for Scholars. So far, we have awarded two scholarships (2021 and 2022) for a total of $9,000. The scholarships were awarded to Anne Arundel County seniors at Broadneck High School and Annapolis High School.

Please help us continue this worthy cause and keep Zach's memory alive in the town he loved.
