Zachary Adams difficult journey ahead..

So many people have reached out both online and in person asking how they can help support Nancy, Mark and their family in this difficult time.

In response to this amazing outpouring of community support, this fund was created to coordinate and simplify efforts.

Drs. Nancy Kazarian and Mark Adams are our friends, neighbours, health care providers, and colleagues who have served as pillars in our community of Port Perry for over 20 years. Their generosity extends beyond the borders of their roles as physicians, and in fact, many patients see them as members of their own family.

It is with great sadness that both Nancy and Mark have had to take a step back from their medical careers as they now focus on the care of their son Zach, who is ill with leukemia (diagnosed in June of this year).

Zach’s journey is an ongoing challenge with multiple medical appointments, procedures, treatments, and hospital admissions (intensive protocol spanning at minimum 6-9 months, followed by ongoing regular follow up for 2-3 years). This requires regular travel to Peterborough Regional Hospital and travel with accommodation stays for Sick Children’s Hospital in Toronto.

In response to the request of many asking to contribute in a meaningful way, we are hoping that funds raised can be used to ease this difficult journey for Zach. These could be costs associated with travel and hotel stays for medical care, keeping up in school, potential uninsured medical tests and treatments, medication and maintaining his health and lifting his spirits.

A blood donor clinic has been scheduled for September 6th at Scugog Arena.
