Remembering a Hero, Zachary Henderson

On the 5th of December, 2023, the world lost an incredible soul. Zachary lived a life for others; consistently putting others first in every situation he encountered. The effect Zach has left on this world is monumental. With his infectious smile and contagious laughter, Zach was someone to bring light to another when they may have needed it the most. Zachary left his home in Florida to serve in the United States Coast Guard up in Maine. He received countless awards there where he fulfilled his dream to save lives. Most recently, Zach became a volunteer firefighter in Perry, Maine, while managing an arduous schedule with the USCG. This is a testament for his dedication to the community he served.

Zachary was the epitome of what friendship should be. Always there for others when they needed a laugh or even a shoulder to cry on. His heart gleamed throughout the room for everyone to feel comfortable and loved. Even though he was across the country, his presence was unwavering no matter the circumstances.

Zach leaves behind a beautiful family that he had built for himself. His beautiful wife Erica, will have to endure the hardships that come with the loss of her spouse while raising Melanie, their 2 year old daughter.

Brandi and Brandon, his parents, and his brothers Preston and Wyatt, will have to face a long road ahead while grieving Zachary’s absence.

The man that Zach was, was a testament to his beautiful family that raised him and surrounded him.
