Zach’s Heart Transplant Road to Recovery

Hi! I’m Jenny DeSandro and my brother in law, Zach McCoy, just recently got his new heart after over a year of waiting. We are so thankful to his donor and their family.

While the wait for a heart is so hard, the recovery is even harder. Zach is a teacher, a coach, and a dad. Due to his heart failure, he has been unable to teach for several months and has been in the hospital for the last month waiting for his heart. Now that he has it, it is time to start the rehab process so that he can get back to teaching and coaching and back to being an active, amazing dad.

We have had so many people ask how they can help and honestly, funds would be the biggest help to help cover medical expenses and to help cover lost income. He has had to use up the limited sick days given to educators.
