Zac's YWAM Discipleship Training

Hello! Thank you for visiting this page and learning more about my upcoming missionary journey. I want to share with you all what is in store for me over the next year!
I have decided to take a year off from college to help serve others. I will be leaving the country to join the missions organization known as YWAM! YWAM stands for Youth With A Mission and they are an organization that sends young adults all around the world to spread the gospel and to help the desperate and the defeated. Beginning October 1, I will flying to Lausanne, Switzerland to attend Discipleship Training School (DTS).
The primary goal of the DTS is to raise up young leaders who are hungry to see change in the world and equip them to do just that. The DTS is split into two different phases - the first phase is called the lecture phase and it is during this time that we go through an intensive training process for 3 months. It helps us learn about the country we’re visiting, cultural rules, how to best help others, situations that might arise, etc. The second phase is the outreach phase where we take everything we've learned from the lecture phase and apply it on a two month long missions trip. We will be sent out to isolated communities with very limited or no resources to allow God to use our giftings, serve, support, and share with them the love of Jesus. Some of the countries we could be visiting are Thailand, Africa and India, or we may end up helping with the refugee crisis in Europe. The final location is chosen based on prayer during our training.
But to do all of this, I need your help!!
The training portion of the DTS costs $3900. The outreach phase of the DTS will cost approximately $4,500. I need to raise half of my funds by Oct 1 and the remaining amount by Jan 1. If you feel led in any way and are able to, I want to invite you to support me financially! I know that by asking for support, I am in some way inviting you to be a part of this trip with me and be a part of God's story of building up my faith and faith of others in a new way.
Most importantly, I am asking for your prayers! I see this as a time where I commit to surrendering and saying "yes" to God in not only my plans and finances right now, but also in my future. Many of you know I am in a season of waiting. Waiting to know who I want to be, what I want to do, where I want to go. Only God knows what is best for me and for the people he will send me to. I have gotten to the place I am today because of a lot of prayer and because of awesome people like you supporting me. I literally cannot do this alone. I know that this will be an amazing experience, but I also know it will be physically, emotionally and spiritually exhausting. Any prayers you can send my way will be a huge blessing to me.
If you have any questions (or words of encouragement!) for me, please feel free to message or email me. My mom will blog updates as I send them and post them to her website at Zac's Updates You can also watch a video from Lausanne that explains what a DTS is and what we do while on them:
Thank you for reading and for your never ending prayers and support!
