Supporting Zahra in Her Battle Against Blood Cancer
Donation protected
Zahra Ahmadi was born on August 16, 2016, in Afghanistan, into a family grappling with poverty. Her father, the sole breadwinner for a family of five, earns a meager $1.50 per day. Recently, Zahra received a devastating diagnosis of blood cancer, plunging her family, along with concerned relatives and friends, into despair. Her Bone Marrow study shows a picture of acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
Despite receiving donated blood in Kabul hospitals and undergoing thorough diagnosis, Zahra's best chance at treatment lies across the border in Pakistan, specifically at the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centers (SKMCH&RC) in Lahore or Peshawar.
This dire situation has left Zahra's family feeling utterly helpless, as they exhaustively search for viable healthcare options within Kabul. Regrettably, their efforts have been met with disheartening news – the specific medication crucial for Zahra's treatment is unavailable in Afghanistan. Fully aware of the complexities involved in international medical coordination, including obtaining a medical visa from Pakistan, Zahra's father, mother, and aunt stand ready to navigate any required procedures and comply with all requirements.
The estimated cost of Zahra's treatment, medical visas, and travel to Pakistan exceeds 96% beyond her family's financial capability, a staggering sum for her impoverished family. Meanwhile, Zahra requires blood transfusions daily and weekly until she can access the definitive treatment she urgently needs.
In light of these pressing circumstances, your donation and generosity hold the power to save Zahra's life. She is the cherished daughter of a struggling family of five, and your support can provide a lifeline in their time of dire need.
