Hello and thank you for your time. My family and I have been living through a nightmare. My wife, and the mother to two beautiful children, is going through what medically, on paper, is unexplainable. She has idiopathic intracranial hypertension aka psuedotumor cerebri, which is the fluid in her skull is under too much pressure and causes intense migraines and eventually blindness by pinching off the optical nerves. The standard solutions were not helping. The sure fire fix the doctor said was abdominal surgery. The surgery only made life worse. Here we are, less than a year later, ten surgeries later, and a handful of diagnoses that are all side effects. We have yet to get a cause of why her condition has deteriorated. She now has a nonfunctioning stomach, gastroparesis, superior mesenteric artery syndrome, and shortly will have her gallbladder removed. She has spent a large portion of the last year on total parental nutrition (TPN) through a PICC line that runs from her upper arm to her heart. Recently, this line going to her heart tested positive for an infection and she is currently undergoing IV antibiotics at home. We are pursuing every available option for care from the Mayo Clinic to Mexico. Also, we are attempting to get things in order for if her conditions continue to get worse. At this point, I am staying home to take care of Serene and our kids more than I am working. We could use any help that can be spared to help cover medical and travel expenses along with bills. I never expected that I could be a widower with two kids before I turn 30. I don't want my amazing children to lose their mother, especially so young. Serene tells me most nights that her death beetle is so loud and that isnt going to wake up. I have done everything I can and all that is left is to beg for help. So if you can spare anything, or even just share this, it would mean so much to my family.
