Zakk Grant's Recovery

Hi, I'm Bob Grant. On April 7th, my brother Zakk was severely burnt in a fire at his apartment. He has third degree burns on 40% of his body and was airlifted that night to Edmonton to stay in the burn unit there. He is receiving excellent care in the burn unit but his prognosis is, at best, several months of painful recovery.

Our mom, Heather, has travelled to Edmonton to stay with him for as long as she can. She has been accepted to stay at the hospital residence for a week, but it is unsure how she will manage to stay there after that and obviously she will have to take the time off work to be there for him.

Any donations are immensely appreciated and will be used to pay for my mom to be able to stay close to him as long as possible. Anything left after that will be used to get Zak the belongings he lost in the fire that insurance won't cover, as he lost all of his possessions in the fire. Thanks for all your support already.

*Update from April 12th*

"Update on Zakk. He will have the first of many surgeries on Monday. I was told this is a high risk due to how severe his injuries are and how large the burn is on his back. Today, though, he opened his eyes, and I asked him to raise his hand if he knew it was mom, his hand moved ever so slightly. Your donations are allowing me to stay in Edmonton with him through what will be a long painful journey, and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart"
