Zane Byrd

Hi, this is Melissa Charles and Jong Kozman. We are friends of Kelly Byrd, who lost her son, Zane Byrd, this past weekend. We are setting up this site to support Kelly and Zane's sister, Daphne, during this unfathomable tragedy of losing Zane.

Zane was a senior at Highland Park High School. He was a remarkable and bright young man with an infectious personality. Those who were close to him describe him as someone who lit up the room with his smile. Zane was a gifted athlete and played for Highland Park Lacrosse and other established lacrosse clubs. He will be greatly missed by his teammates, the lacrosse community and so many friends. He had a relentless vigor and love for the game, and as a team captain, he had the unique ability to elevate those around him.

Zane was a loyal friend, a devoted son, the best brother to his sister, and a Scot.

The Byrd family would greatly appreciate any support at this time. It is hard to imagine their grief and the long road ahead. All funds will go towards the Byrd family to cover funeral expenses and alleviate any burdens they face in the next several months. Let’s rally around this wonderful family who are fairly new to the community and show them our love and support.
