Zane Frazier Medical Expenses

Donation protected
Zane Frazier was in a single vehicle accident in Georgia on January 8, 2022. He was life flighted to Navicent Medical Center in Macon. He underwent two emergency surgeries, where extensive measures were taken to save his life. Zane had severe internal bleeding, a ruptured spleen that was removed, broken ribs, liver lacerations, lung contusions, and a brain shear. He tested positive for Covid upon arrival at the hospital and was kept under isolated quarantine for 10 days while he was in a medically induced coma on life support.
On January 18, Zane was moved to the Surgical Trauma ICU after his 10 day Covid quarantine. He stayed in this ICU for 30 days. He faced many tough days in the ICU, and several days where even the team of medical staff expressed concerns that things may not improve.
January 26 was one of the toughest for Zane. He coded two times that morning. The medical team worked as best they could to get Zane’s heart beating again and were successful. They explained to Zane’s parents that although he was stabilized, he was on all the medication they could give to keep his body going. Zane’s infection continued to climb and his white blood cell and platelet count were extremely high and not responding to medication. His lungs were not showing improvement despite 2 chest tubes. This is a good time to insert “but God”.
Two days later, Zane’s infection for the first time in weeks began declining. They took him off the medications that were maintaining his blood pressure, and his body began to start healing. They slowly weaned Zane off of sedation and the ventilator.
Zane has fought to live. God has a plan for Zane’s life and there is no doubting that. Zane continues to make progress each day. He is able to communicate at times, though the brain injury is present and being faced daily. Zane’s body is physically limited. He has made some progress with the few minutes of physical therapy he gets each morning. Zane’s trach is currently capped off, and not only is he breathing completely on his own, but no supplemental oxygen has been needed.
Zane came off the family insurance plan 28 days before the accident and he had not yet secured a new plan for himself. If things continue to progress, he will be transported to the Methodist Rehabilitation Center in Jackson, MS in a few days. With complete transparency, because of his residency being in GA, Zane’s rehabilitation will have to be paid for out- of -pocket by his family.
God has been faithful every step of the way, and without a doubt He will continue to be faithful.
Zane’s family graciously thanks every single person that has followed along, prayed through, interceded on Zane’s behalf, and supported all of the family through this.
