Zanzibar Covid-19 Relief Fund

As COVID-19 takes hold of the world, Zanzibar, an archipelago off of the coast of mainland Tanzania, is in danger of detrimental loss. This beautiful island community is not equipped to handle a pandemic of this scale. The hospitals do not have the protective equipment needed for their staff or the facilities with the capacity to manage it. Many families are not able to stay home without food as they depend on “daily bread”. Therefore, the best thing we can do is limit the spread as much as possible through public health education and community-based support. This will save many lives in Zanzibar. 

WAJAMAMA Wellness Center  is a family and women’s health practice located in Stone Town. Our small team is currently leading community efforts in the fight to prevent COVID-19 transmissions in Zanzibar. 

* We are providing hand washing stations to communities without running water.
* We are providing masks to people who cannot afford them and do not have enough food to self-isolate.
* We are educating people to keep themselves safe and prevent the spread of disease, because medical help will be limited and basic.

As the number of cases continue to increase, we need to move quickly to scale up our efforts before it is too late. We are asking for your support to protect Zanzibar from COVID-19:
