FUNDRAISER DEADLINE: JULY 11th

(photo from past super secret music video project... to be released soon)
In a month, we will be headed off to the Eastern Shore of VA to participate in a one-of-a-kind film residency: Experimental Film Virginia (July 17th - July 30th). zap has recently been accepted as one of the artists to come make a dance film inspired by the intersection of her background in dance, her environmental knowledge, her research and collaborative based process, and the people, landscape, and energy of Cape Charles, VA. Artists from all around the world are carefully selected for this film residency, and we can’t wait to go together as a team this year! This is Cat’s fourth year attending the festival as part of the EFV production crew. As an artist herself, she has produced, shot, edited, and created beautiful, visceral, and important work alongside the other artists that come together for this annual event. The Cazap creative train is off for its next art making adventure, but we could use some help to make this experience be all it can be!
What is EFV, why is it so awesome, and what is a “dance film”?
While one could write a small novel on everything that this film residency brings to the table, simply put, there is no other film residency program like it in the world.
From the EFV website:
“Our goal is to create a supportive environment where risk-taking, investigation, and exchange can take place inspired by the sights and sounds of Virginia's Eastern Shore. The environment and structure of EFV is designed to trigger new perspectives in the creative process of screen-based work for artists who work in visual, time-based media: sound designers, choreographers, directors, filmmakers, visual artists, dancers, and musicians, composers and digital arts. We invite our artists to look specifically at the intersection of sound, movement, and location on the screen. Whether you are a film director, a camera operator, an editor, or a choreographer, the composition of movement, sound, and location are essential ingredients to making compelling story-telling works. This workshop will be a supportive and collaborative space where curiosity, experimentation, and novelty are valued as we investigate different approaches to the creative process of making screen-based work.”

Work Cat has made AT EFV:
Super huge thanks and gratitude to our communities for the continual support of our work, in all the ways. We wouldn't be where we are without it! If you feel moved to help us create a new film, we are honored for the mutual investment this project points to, as we strengthen and grow our artistic collaboration.
We will check in and answer any questions that y’all may have!
Much love,
zap & Cat
