Zayne's Bright Future

On December 13, 2010, a precious, healthy little boy named Zayne Casey was born.  Bringing so much love and light to this world, things were nothing short of perfect. His mommy (Kristal), daddy (Dwayne) and sister (Payton) felt complete.  One day, Kristal sat down to nurse her perfect 5-1/2 month old son, when all of a sudden he started having a seizure. Unfortunately, this wouldn't be the last. From that time on, he started having "Spasm Seizures"; doctors diagnosed him with Infantile Seizures and Down Syndrome. From 5-1/2 months to 11 months young, Zayne had totally frozen in time. The Casey family was absoulutely devistated that their young, loving little boy could no longer smile, no longer hit milestones, no longer function the way a "normal" baby could.

After much holistic treatment, his severe spasms finally degressed to drop seizures by 11 months of age, and he has been seizure free for a year and a half! Glory be to God! Because of the awful 5 or so months that Zayne was unable to properly live life, he is not totally caught up to his age. Especially being that he has Down Syndrome. But, there's hope.

The Rise School of Houston is a school dedicated to Down Syndrome children. Early childhood development is crucial, and this is their specialty. Although this school is the absolute perfect fit, it comes with a not-so-perfect price. Zayne has been accepted into this amazing school, but the family's finances aren't as hefty as the fees due. The amount needed for his schooling is $19,000, but the family is eager to raise more as there is money needed for after school care and other medical/therapeutic expenses (about $16,000).
