I truly hate asking, but I’m at my wits end trying to figure out what to do. We’ve been struggling financially since I got sick a few years ago, and been limping along as best we could. Until I started having issues with my hernias again.
I’d deal with the pain as best I could, or I’d end up going to the ER to tell me there wasn’t really anything they’d do unless it was an emergency situation.
Well, August 13th - it was one. I’d been having pain for a few days, and Josh unfortunately had to take some time to help take care of me - but that morning it was too much. I went to our local emergency room - after a few tests they decided the only, best corse of action was to send me up to UK for emergency hernia repair surgery.
I was in the hospital for six days. I’m healing - had what I hope will end up being my last follow-up with the Surgeon today, but this has cost Josh a lot of time off of work, unfortunately unpaid. He’s about to start a new job, but it’s going to take a few weeks for the paychecks to start coming in.
Meanwhile we have rent and bills that are past due, and not enough money to go around. I don’t like talking about how bad things are sometimes - especially when it comes to my health. I have four autoimmune diseases - all of which involve fatigue and chronic pain. When doctors ask what my pain level is - I tend to laugh and as kindly as I can explain that I’m in constant pain, so that scale or trying to figure out what region hurts is kind of useless. Where to I hurt? Yes.
It sucks, and it means Josh has to end up helping me with a lot of things, he has to do the lions share of the cooking and cleaning. On top of working. We just need a little bit of money to get us back on our feet. Any bit will help, and it will be greatly appreciated.
