Transportation Needed

My name is Dina DeFilippo. I am trying to raise funds to pay for a wheelchair accessible van and the needed upgrades to transport my husband and son to and from Drs appts, therapy and for my son to visit his Dad in the nursing home.

My son has Cerebral Palsy, hearing loss and asthma.

In November 2021 I had a heart attack. In April 2022 I had a triple by pass.

On July 13th, 2022 my husband had a stroke as he was leaving work. He got to the hospital and had to be transported to another hospital that took care of neuro issues. The last thing he said to me was I love you. On 7/17/22 my husband had a second stroke. He had to have surgery to remove part of his skull. Between then and June 8th 2023 we fought thru brain bleeds, swelling, pneumonia, c-diff, tracheotmy, feeding tube, covid, blindness and many hopsital stays. We still fight pneumonia often. He had pulled his trache out several times as well as his feeding tube. We tried serveral times to get him back to the hospital to replace his skull. 4 times the ambulance service canceled on us, leaving him without transportation to surgery. Finally on June 8th it was finally replaced. On June 10th we found out that he has a broken and dislocated hip that will probably require surgery. We have had trouble getting him to drs appts as well.

We desperately need this wheelchair accessible van so we can get him to drs appts, surgery and therapy so he can get to have a better quality of life. And make his scheduled appts as he should.

With my health issues I can only work 1 day a week and my son is in a power wheelchair and cant work. My husband cant work so we are asking for any kind of help in order to get this van paid for and all set for the winter.

Our family is not the kind of people to ask for help but this time i am way in over my head and would greatly appreciate any and all help.
