Glen Hampson Rehabilitation Fund
Donation protected
Early morning on June 25, 2019, our very dear friend, Glen Hampson, was involved in a life-altering auto accident on his way to work. The traumatic event left him in a coma with an injury called brain and brain stem shearing. Thankfully, he has since awoken from his coma and is making slow, steady progress. He is just now beginning to be able to swallow certain foods, form words, and exhibit some limited use of his left side.
Glen is a selfless soul who is loved and admired by everyone he meets. He is always the first to help a friend, a family member, or even a complete stranger in need. So it was no surprise to us when, as a proud linesman for a utility company, Glen packed up and left to help restore power the people of Puerto Rico after hurricane Maria in 2017. It was simply something we expected that Glen would do.
A devoted husband, a dynamic personality, an avid outdoorsman, a craftsman, and a talented musician, Glen embodies the attitude that anything is possible if you work hard enough. After losing his right leg to an accident seven years ago, he worked tirelessly to rehabilitate and return to all of his prior activities. He was determined that this disability would not define him...or for that matter...slow him down in the least. Friends and family were truly inspired by his determination and by his recovery.
But this time, seven years later, Glen is in for the fight of his life. Unfortunately, this recovery will be a long and difficult one. It is predicted that the therapy necessary for Glen to regain any level of independence will far outlast his insurance. The prognosis for his ever returning to the job he loves is very bleak, and his family has already sustained significant financial losses due to lost income.
With this in mind, we are asking you to consider making a donation to help us raise much-needed monies to help Glen continue his rehabilitation. Your donation will go directly to Glen’s family in support of his care.
