Deputy Hopkins Hot Tub for Rehab
Donation protected
On October 26,2013 Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Deputy Robin Hopkins was responding to an active shooter call. The suspect was continually firing an AK-47 at responding members of the Albuquerque Police Department and the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Department as they tried to apprehend him. The subject fired several rounds at Deputy Hopkins patrol car. One of the rounds passed through the door of her unit and struck her in the leg. Deputy Hopkins was critically injured as the bullet shattered her femur and ruptured her femoral artery. Deputy Hopkins was hospitalized for two months. She has undergone numerous surgeries along the way. Deputy Hopkins is committed to returning to full duty as a Sheriff’s Deputy. She will have lifelong affects from her injuries. As part of her daily rehabilitation she has found that soaking in hot water is extremely helpful and allows her the ability to get a peaceful nights rest. Deputy Hopkins is a fantastic example of a true and dedicated public servant. Please help us in our effort to raise enough money to be able to provide Deputy Hopkins with a hot tub so she can continue on her road to recovery. Thank you for your support.
