3 weeks ago, he started to experience some kind of nausea and loss of balance. I couldn't say how many times he have vomitted. 2 weeks ago, I took him to the Lexington Medical Center ER and Urgent Care, they couldn't tell us anything and gave him a pill that dissolves under his tongue for nausea. That didn't help.
When we were travelling to Connecticut for wedding event, the drive was 15 hours he got sick again. First, we thought it was carsick but he was continuing to vomit even he wasn't in car more than 24 hours after we arrived Wednesday morning. I took him to Middlesex Medical Center ER Thursday afternoon, they told him to walk around and see if they could detect any symptoms. They didn't find anything wrong and the next thing they said if he gets worse, Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital is the next stop because they are well equipped for childrens.
This past Sunday, he got much worse and we finally made a decision to go to Yale, it took 1 hour drive from where I was staying at. They detected symptoms and ordered a fast MRI and discovered a mass in his brain. They admitted him overnight to have a full MRI following morning, and the result was a definitely brain tumor but we didn't know what kind it was. He was required to have surgery that was scheduled at 2:30pm and didn't get out of operating room for 7 hours. It went very well but we received a bad news from the pathology, brain tumor has turned into brain cancer which was an aggressive type; Medulloblastoma. He is required to undergo 40 weeks of radiation and chemotherapy treatments.
As right now, he is in PICU and we don't know how long we will be here. We have to do the treatments first before we head home. Travelling back home is in process and still in discussion on how to get back home. If I do the drive back, I am required to do 20 hospital stops on the way. Fly home on medical plane going straight to Charleston. Please continue to pray for this little warrior!!!
