Help Marla in Her Time of Need

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Hearts,

I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart to share the story of my dear friend Marla, who has been a beacon of light and strength in so many peoples lives. Marla has battled cancer since she was a young girl, and was thankfully in remission for many years. In 2018 she had bilateral mastectomy along with chemo and many other treatments throughout the years, and thankfully went into remission again.

However, in October 2023, Marla received the devastating news that her cancer has returned. She is now battling progressive stage 4 metastatic breast cancer with lesions in her jaw, liver, spin, and kidney. After bravely fighting this battle several times before, she has exhausted all her treatment options, and the doctors delivered the heart-wrenching prognosis that she has only six precious months left to live.

Marla has always been the one to uplift others, a caring friend, and an unwavering support to those who have needed her. She has faced her battles with courage and dignity, inspiring all of us with her positivity and strength. However, this latest diagnosis has taken a toll on her and her family, both emotionally and financially. Marla is unable to work at this time and is currently on Hospice but has dedicated her entire life to education. Many of us who have met Marla through work are in awe of the stories she tells from her previous teaching experiences and it is crystal clear that she has a true passion for education and especially in particular special needs.

As Marla enters this difficult chapter, we want to ensure that she can spend her remaining time surrounded by love, comfort, and the things that bring her joy which include traveling and making memories with her dear friends and daughter. We are asking for your help to alleviate some of the financial burdens that come with this journey. The funds raised will go towards her medical care, comfort measures, and the opportunity for her to create lasting memories with her loved ones.

As a friend of Marla's, who has been blessed to see first hand, her passion, drive, love, encouragement, dedication and so much more, be able to fulfill her wish to travel to Italy with her daughter.
