Compete at Women’s Freestyle Nationals Spokane WA

Cypress Wrestling Club members Brynlee Mooney, Remy LaFlamme, and Elliotte Strange (all of Houston, TX) are asking for the support of friends, family, and the community. These three amazing girls are currently middle schoolers who are committed not only to their academic pursuits, but they are avid wrestlers who invest countless hours on the mat at Cypress Wrestling Club. Wrestling is not currently offered in middle school, so they wrestle at their local club in preparation to achieve their high school goals and college aspirations. Previously, the Women’s National Freestyle Tournament was held in Texas. This year, the tournament has been moved to Spokane, Wa., a significant shift in the availability of this high-level competition. This tournament brings together the best of the best and is a qualifier for the Pan AM team. These girls are putting in the work and want to compete on the national level at these caliber tournaments. Most recently, these girls traveled as a group to the Women's Folkstyle National Championship and they each placed top THREE of their brackets (Elliotte - 1st place; Brynlee - 2nd place; Remy - 3rd place). They have demonstrated their clear ability to compete and hold their own at the national level. All that stands in their way now are the funds to get to Washington state! They will be putting together additional fundraisers in the community to raise money for the trip as well. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated; no amount is too small.
