Medical Care for Rusty
Great Pyrenees Rescue of Atlanta recently took in a young extremely neglected male named Rusty.
He used to live under horrible, filthy circumstances with roughly 45 small breed dogs inside a "home" in North GA. Animal control and the Sherrif's department were called to the scene. Luckily an Atlanta based mixed breed rescue took the small breed dogs in.
Rusty is severely neglected and emaciated. He tested positive for Coccidia, Hookworms, Whipworms, Roundworm. Ingrown toenails and a horrible ear infection. His ears are so painful that an exam with the otoscope was not possible. Rusty will need to be sedated to clean and treat his ears, as soon as the ear culture results will be back.
His skin is in rough condition as well, most likely sarcoptic mange.
As you can imagine this will be a long road of different treatments for Rusty.
He is a very sweet boy and we all at GPRA and our partner vet clinic, Animal Wellness Clinic in Milton are determined to get Rusty healthy and find the best home for him.
