Sasamat House Fire Fund

The house at 4663 W 12th was lost in a fire on July 22. Thankfully, everyone escaped safely.

We're raising money for the roommates unhoused by the fire. Almost everything in the house was destroyed. The roommates woke up to flames outside their window and had to evacuate immediately. The fire department was unable to salvage anything from the upper floors. Items lost include: furniture, laptops, phones, wallets, IDs, clothes, instruments, food, and keepsakes.

The big blue sasamat house has provided a home for many "house alumni" since 2015. We've celebrated birthdays there, graduations, first jobs, first dates, engagements, and countless "house dinners". For many years, life's milestones have happened within the canvas of "sasamat house". The house played a special role for many during the pandemic lockdown, providing a focal point for community.

Money raised here will be given to the roommates unhoused by the fire to distribute as they see fit. We hope you'll join us in rallying around a community that had meant so much to so many.
