Save Our Sanctuary!
We need your help! My name is Pauline Wilson and I am a founder trustee of National Animal Sanctuaries Support League a registered charity of 30yrs rescuing and re homing unwanted and abandoned animals. Our charity also works with Social Services, women's refuge and the probation service stepping in times of crises looking after family pets until they can be returned to their owner. This is a vital part of our work and is called the Alternative Project. We have operated the Alternative Project for 18yrs and the increase for this service has gone up year on year. We have a none destruction policy plus a spaying and neutering policy, home visits are carried out to asses the suitability of the adoptee. Although the pandemic has hit us hard financially we still carried on helping the animals that crossed our path. Now we are faced with another challenge which could be the biggest yet, the survival of our charity.
We have rented our present site in County Durham for the last 25yrs, and have worked tirelessly to built it into the effective rescue it is today. last year however the owner of the land sadly died and we have been given 6mths to leave. The charity has been given an opportunity to purchase land where we could relocate and carry on our work helping animals in need plus there is room to expand, helping even more animals to a better life. Our appeal is to raise the financial short fall in the purchase price to secure the future of the charity and in turn the future of many more animals that cross our path. We are a dedicated team of people with only one paid employee and squeeze every penny out of every pound, no fancy office! The animals are at the centre of everything we do and we are desperate to keep going, we can not let the animals down they need all the help they can get.
Please support us in this hour of need and give what you can.
