The General Election on 4th July 2024 is our chance to bring the change in politics we are so desperately seeking. Politicians that truly represent their constituents and are willing to speak up when needed. I am that candidate in Brentford and Isleworth, Zebunisa Rao, Independent.

I have a lifelong connection with Brentford and Isleworth. During the pandemic era, I actively worked in the community with hands on tasks such as supporting the elderly and providing a temporary public food bank for the homeless, for those with mobility issues, or on low-income. It was inspiring to see how the community was ready to work together to help serve those in difficult circumstances, and reassuring to know that we are able to rely on this aspect of human nature.

World affairs have always been of personal interest to me, and I have participated in activism in any way possible, for the awareness of the public and leadership in crisis after crisis. In this country alone we suffer from an economy crisis, deterioration of public services such as the NHS, a lack of trust on the government, and a rise in crime.

The genocide and humanitarian catastrophe imposed on the Palestinians is a culmination of 75 years of constant oppression. The horror and escalation is of an unbearable magnitude, and it is clear to the general population that those in power are complicit, and do not represent us.

This is why i have decided to stand against the current Labour MP for Brentford and Isleworth, Ruth Cadbury, who abstained from any practical action to end the genocide.
