Zee and Al Edgell Memorial Scholarship

We are raising funds to establish a scholarship in honor of Zee and Al. As dedicated educators and life-long learners, the value of education is a meaningful part of their legacies. To start, we have seeded the fund with monies from our own family.

 

Beginning in the 2022-2023 school year we will award yearly scholarships to cover tuition for TWO students per year. We are partnering with two secondary schools in Belize city. As a family, we have many meaningful connections to both schools.

 

One student from each school will be selected. Students who demonstrate financial need and submit an application essay will be eligible for consideration. As a student, Zee applied for a scholarship of this kind and her essay was chosen as the winner. She often cited that experience as a formative opportunity in encouraging her to continue with her education and achieve all that she did.

 

We are looking forward to continuing Zee and Al’s legacies by increasing the educational opportunities for students in Belize.
