Support The Zeigler Family - Medical Fund

Hello, we are the Zeiglers. Dozens of friends have encouraged us to share our story and start this GoFundMe after several medical diagnoses and our car being stolen the day after Christmas. It is not easy to ask for help but we also know that we need support, and humbly thank you for listening to and sharing our story.

We've had a lot to celebrate and be thankful for, including my successful lung surgery in 2018 which removed the upper half of my left lung due to a serious lung disease.

My husband Todd and our four children (Emma, Mimi, Liza, and Ewan) have made a home in Central Florida where Todd, Emma, and I work as cast members in various lines of business. Our other children attend school in Osceola County, including Liza, who attends a school for autism.

2023 has been particularly challenging as in April I had a relapse of severe symptoms and complications with my lung. I was taken by ambulance from work to Celebration Hospital. Among other already pressing issues including cysts and concerns in my reproductive system, April's lung relapse caused a domino effect of other serious issues with my cervical spine causing periods of numbness and an inability to use the left side of my body in part, and sometimes, in whole.

I have been off from work without pay since October 17, 2023. I have used all of my paid time off and FMLA hours. On October 24, 2023 I was forced on medical leave and have since been working with my physicians and specialists in first, finding the pain and issues with mobility, and then working back from there to resolve other issues which are also concerning. It has taken this long to be approved for short term disability, which will not be released until my return to work date can be determined. We have exhausted our savings.

Things were starting to look up as physical therapy is due to start on January 4th. However, on December 26th at 5:55am, we discovered our 2015 Kia Soul had been stolen right from our driveway in a series of thefts that covered our entire neighborhood. We reported the event to the police and are waiting to learn what has happened to our car. We've been told we probably will not see it in working condition if it is ever recovered.

We've created this GoFundMe to ask for support in helping us secure safe family transportation. If we are able to find a safe, reliable used car for less than what we are raising, the balance will be used for living & medical expenses while we spend the next few months determining if I will be able to return to work.

For those who don't know us, we are a family full of love and joy. We find the good where we can and ride the tide on the rest. Through life's challenges we try and find the good and we are so lucky to have the village of friends and family who constantly provide support and love. With your help, we can continue to heal and build security for our family during a time that was already stressful.
