Zeke's getting a new HEART!

To know Zeke is to love him, and to love him is to be blessed! Zeke has always been an amazing human! With an incredible heart! However, now he is in need of a new heart. After a few years of lots of tests, and meds, and hospital stays, and more tests and meds, it's time for Zeke to get a new heart! He and Lisa will be in Seattle until he is able to have his transplant. While timelines can be a very tricky thing to predict we are thinking they will be at Seattle Children's hospital for the better part of a year (Or longer). In a few months (the sooner the better) Zeke will have surgery to get a pik line to administer his meds. Zeke will also have surgery to get an LVAD- my very uneducated explanation of that is, an exterior pace maker. There will be wires placed inside of Zeke, tubes that run to a box on the outside- when the monitor goes off, he will have to plug in the device. Because of this, and the high risk of infection, Zeke will need to remain in Seattle under the care of the children's hospital team. Zeke is on the transplant list- but waiting could take 6 months to a year. Then a transplant, then recovery. When Zeke comes home next, it will be with the gift of a new heart! Amelia, Zeke's big sister is home with Aunt Christy, and her grandparents. Zeke's dad Alvin, along with his wife Britt, and Zeke's baby brother Eli are all home in Helena- there will be lots of trips back and forth, lots of expenses, lots of missed work. Lots of things coming up in the next year plus.
