Brunswick Community Support Fund

In 2019, numerous families seeking asylum arrived in Brunswick. In response, the Brunswick Town Council authorized the creation of the Brunswick Community Support Fund (BCSF) and began accepting contributions to the fund. The fund was created to provide basic necessities and to help cover “gaps” in assistance where, as best as possible, not to overlap with other resource or service providers.

Fast forward to the present, our town is now expecting an additional 60 New Mainer families to arrive in the summer of 2023. We have received many questions from residents on how to support our newest residents; accordingly, we are re-affirming that the BCSF remains active and an important resource for these families.

The fund provides community members and supporters with the opportunity to donate directly toward the acquisition of furniture, household items, and other basic necessities to asylum seeking families who have relocated to Brunswick. Suggested donation tiers are listed below, and all donations are tax-deductible.

The BCSF will remain active so local residents and businesses can continue to support families in need in the future. Suggested Donation Tiers

• $ 50.00 – Cleaning essentials kit for one family

• $ 100.00 – Household essentials kit for one family

• $ 150.00 – Bathroom set-up for one family

• $ 200.00 – Bedroom set-up for one family

• $ 300.00 – Kitchen set-up for one family

• $ 500.00 – Kitchen and bathroom set-up for one family

• $ 800.00 – All household kits and room set-up for one family

• $1,500.00 – Entire apartment set-up for one family (including basic furniture)
