Zen Pi’s vet expenses
Donation protected
Hello everyone.
*** update ***
Pi is undergoing surgery today (10/4/23) for his tendon. He severed his tendon 70% which is a horrific injury to the tendon. He will be in a stall for months to come and will most likely never be ridden again. The estimate is $10k to include surgery and the week long he will be kept at New Bolton.
I am creating a Gofundme for my sister and my beloved horse Zen Pi. On October 4, 2023, sweet Pi came in from the field incredibly lame with a deep wound on his tendon. We had a emergency vet visit who referred us to New Bolton.
Currently, we are awaiting the outcome of Pi’s exam, but we were told by the emergency vet that it would be at least $2,500.00 to $3,500.00 at New Bolton. This is a lot of money for my sister and I, so we decided to create this Gofundme to help us afford this sudden and unexpected cost.
Pi means the world to both of us and this is a very stressful and disappointing time. We had plans of attending the 2023 Retired Racehorse Project with Pi, which starts this coming Monday. We have worked months towards this goal and are devastated that we will no longer be attending with sweet Pi.
Now we anxiously wait to find out Pi’s final prognosis. Updates to come.
