Help Jim with Medical Expenses

Hi my name is Jim. I was recently diagnosed with a rare form of Muscular Dystrophy called Inclusion -Body Myositis or IBM. For the past 15+ years I have dealt with muscle weakness in my lower body extremities resulting in multiple falls. Not understanding why this was occurring I began seeking help from multiple doctors all who ran test after test on me, all coming up with multiple diagnosis but no one finding a true reason for why my over-all health and physical condition was declining. This past summer I was referred to a neurologist in Wilmington, NC who took the time to really take a look. After doing multiple tests and completing a surgical biopsy of my upper thigh she was able to determine that I have Muscular Dystrophy. I was sent to the Duke Neurosurgical Disorders Center to be seen by a Dr. who specializes in MD. He ran a multitude of tests which determined that I have this rare disease. I am mentally prepared but need help. I am unable to work and currently am trying to get on disability. We are a one income family and struggling to pay for all of medical bills, trips to the doctor, to Duke, hotel stays when we have to travel the 4 hour trip to the clinic, find animal sitters, etc. I am not one to ask for help but know that my wife's income cannot cover all of the extra expenses that we are facing . I am trying to raise just enough to help us until my disability is approved. If you are able to help in any way we would be forever grateful.
