Hope for Brian

Hello my name is Brian ,I've been diagnosed Spinocerebellar Ataxia Type 3. This is a rare, and debilitating, degenerative brain disease. It is a rare movement disorder that is characterized by ataxia, clumsiness and weakness in the arms and legs, spasticity, a staggering lurching walk easily mistaken for drunkenness, difficulty with speech and swallowing, and involuntary eye movements sometimes accompanied by double vision, and bulging eyes. Some patients have dystonia or symptoms similar to those of Parkinson's disease. Others have twitching of the face or tongue, neuropathy, or problems with urination and the autonomic nervous system. As this is a degenerative disease it means that symptoms only get worse with time  for me, it is getting worse rapidly.

I'm a very proud and loving  single father to my amazing son Dominik. I once enjoyed working as an industrial roofer and was a very active man that loved to run, dance and play soccer with my son. I can no longer run, dance or play soccer with my son; instead now I struggle with very basic movements that most of us take for granted on a daily basis. My  speech, eye sight and general movement is further deteriorating every single day. I slip and fall frequently; one time i fell so bad that I cracked 2 of my ribs.

Since august of 2010 ,when i was diagnosed I've been going through a very difficult ordeal; however, I aspire to live a long, healthy and prosperous life…. I just need  support to help me do that.

Although incredible progress has been made every day with regards to new research, things are not moving quickly enough here and Canadian doctors have advised there is nothing more they can do to help in terms of treatment offerred. As my health deteriorates every day, I reject the idea to sit back and do nothing.

They have seen amazing life altering results in other patients with similar Neurological Conditions such as Parkinson & MS. Although this is not considered a cure for me, this treatment can provide significant improvement to my quality of life.

This is the hope that I have been praying for but I NEED YOUR HELP to raise the $25,000; with everyones help it will put me closer to this figure.

I'm raising these funds in order to receive this potentially lifesaving treatment; so that I may be blessed with the opportunity to live as the strong man that desires to be  a strong father, son, brother, friend, community member and conscious global citizen that I also need to be.

The faster I recieve this treatment the more successfully it can be to my  progression.
