Helping A Man Who Has Helped So Many

Friends, meet Terry Choate.

Terry has been a fixture on Music Row in Nashville for almost 50 years.

He’s been a song plugger, music producer, record label executive,

publisher, music director for popular TV shows and the definition of a “song man.”

More than that, he’s been a true friend, encourager and mentor to songwriters and aspiring singers and musicians.

Terry has always struggled with Type 1 diabetes. Two years ago, in July, he was found unresponsive in his apartment in Nashville in a diabetic coma. Paramedics got to him in time to save him, but it did slow him down quite a bit.

Fast forward to May 2022. Terry developed an infection in the large toe of his left foot… To save his foot, they tried just to take the toe, but it became septic, and they had to take half his foot. The surgery was in the middle of June. Since that surgery, Terry has remained in the hospital and been unconscious the majority of the time. He has also lost a lot of weight.

The doctors currently do not know why he can’t wake up.

His wife, Cheri, has retired early from the teaching profession to care for Terry.

Cheri admits they do not have the best insurance to cover the medical expenses.

Terry can’t work.

Cheri is taking care of Terry and won’t be working.

Whatever is donated will be used for their living expenses,

Cheri's travel to and from the hospital and medical bills.

Their need is genuine and immediate.
