Roman’s Fundraiser

Wallsend RFC are raising funds for one of our youth players. Roman who plays in our U12 team.

On the 16th February Roman suffered a concussion in our game against Doncaster Knights. After following the concussion protocol, Roman still had concussion symptoms and was taking to hospital by his mam.

The hospital admitted Roman and he had a few scans. He was then diagnosed with a brain tumour (not related to the concussion it had been there some time).

Roman will need an operation to remove the brain tumour and then chemotherapy.

This has come as a massive shock to both Roman and his family. As a single parent baring both the emotional and financial strain has been overwhelming. Romans mam has been unable to work since Roman was admitted to hospital and now has increased costs of hospital parking, eating on the go etc.

We would like to take away the financial burden from Roman and his family so they can concentrate solely on his treatment and recovery.

My son is truly one of a kind, and I feel so lucky to watch him grow into the incredible person he is. He has the kindest heart, always looking out for others and showing compassion in everything he does. His caring nature is evident in the way he supports those around him, always ready with a helping hand or a word of encouragement.

Beyond his kindness, he has the best sense of humor—he can light up any room with his laughter and quick wit. There’s never a dull moment when he’s around, and his joy is absolutely contagious! He’s also incredibly intelligent, with a curiosity and determination that inspire me every day. He asks the best questions, thinks deeply, and always strives to learn and grow.

On top of all that, he’s a natural athlete—sporty, strong, and always up for a challenge. Whether he’s on the field, in the gym, or trying something new, he gives it his all and never gives up. His passion and dedication make me so proud.

He is truly a gift—someone who brings warmth, laughter, and love into every space he enters. I couldn’t be prouder of the amazing young man he is becoming! ❤️
