Eye Surgery to Treat PMCD

Hello, my name is Roxanne and I am reaching out to you with a humble request. I have a rare eye condition called pellucid marginal corneal degeneration, which means that my corneas are slowly disintegrating and there is no way to stop it without major surgery. I have been living with this condition for years, and it has affected my vision, my work, and my quality of life. I am on social security with disability, and my insurance will cover 80% of the surgery, but I still have to pay $1,600.00 out of pocket per eye. That is a huge amount of money for me, and I don't have any savings or assets to cover it.

I live in the small town of Salida, Colorado, and I need the surgery in Castle Rock, Colorado, which is about 150 miles away. I would need to stay overnight on two different occasions, because one eye can be operated on per surgery. Without surgery, I will fully lose my eyesight in a matter of months. With surgery, I can not only save but improve my impaired eyesight, and have a chance to see the world clearly again.

I have two kids and two grandkids, and they are the most precious things in my life. I love them with all my heart, and I would hate to never see them again. They are my motivation and my support, and they have been helping me as much as they can, but they also have their own financial struggles and responsibilities. I don't want to be a burden to them, or to anyone else.

That is why I am asking you, from the bottom of my heart, to please help me raise the funds for my surgery. Any amount, no matter how small, would make a huge difference for me and my family.
