Let's get Ziko to Europe for the World Champs

Hi, I’m Ziko Vesely, and I have qualified and been nominated to represent Australia and

compete in two ICF World Championships for Sprint Kayak in Auronzo, Italy and Marathon Kayak in Vejen, Denmark as part of the U18’s team.

 

I’ve been paddling ever since I can remember, my father being the biggest influence in

getting me to an elite level of paddling, he’s been my biggest supporter and the best coach I could ask for. He’s been by my side every step of the way, every win, every loss, helping me refine my technique and pushing me to be the best I can.

Unfortunately, at the start of last year I suffered a serious back injury, fracturing my L4 and L5 in my lower spine which sadly shattered my chance of competing at all that year. Even with the physical setback I didn’t let that change my mentality, I continuously did my rehab and kept going to the gym to stay fit, I wasn’t letting anything stop me from pursuing my passion of paddling.

Fast forward to now, my opportunity of competing at worlds, consistently training at NSWIS with the best team and coaches on the Northern Beaches. Recently I competed in the Kayak Oceania Championships in April as part of the Australian team, I was fortunate to have come home with 8 gold medals, 2 silver and 1 bronze.

I believe I have worked hard to earn my spot on the Australian team, I would sincerely

appreciate your support via donation, big or small, to help me reach my next big goal in my paddling journey. All donations will help fund my trip to represent our country in Europe.
