Cameron Owen Zimmerman-Randle was the life of every party. He was always the wealth of useless knowledge you never knew you wanted, and laughed louder and better than anyone else. It was just one of the many things that made everyone love Cameron. Not only was he the heart of everyone around him, but he was also the intellectual. Whenever he spoke, everyone listened as he shared his love of books and history. Not hard because he had the most deep and soulful voice that anyone had ever heard, it made you want to listen to him even if he was talking about something you never expected.

He was always able to add a fact, no matter what you were talking about.

But, that was only the tip of the iceberg with Cameron - and what an iceberg! He was a big guy in everything he did. Not just tall, but full of life and heart and love and information that he wanted to share with the world. He served in the United States Army in Mortuary Affairs for 4 years, and continued to serve his country at home as he went back to school at Texas A&M Corpus Christi with a major in History and a minor in Journalism. When he and his wife, Lindsey, moved to Dallas he worked as a librarian for UTD because his love of learning and the world could not be stymied.

His wife Lindsey opened his eyes to the world of animals, where her passion for animals around the world made him love them too. Filling their home with cats and lizards when he had never expected it. This paired well with his love for the outdoors and cycling, and, of course, highlighted his love for his soulmate, Lindsey Zimmerman-Randle.

When Cameron’s life was tragically cut short by a drunk driver while on an early morning bike ride on Thanksgiving day, November 23, 2017 the light that Cameron gave to the world was snuffed out too soon. He left behind friends and family who loved him more than words can express, but most of all he left behind the other half of himself. His wife.

Now, in the aftermath of his loss, the Zimmerman-Randle family need you to support them and show them a hint of the light they are without. They have funeral and memorial expenses to cover with this sudden and unexpected loss and any amount you can contribute will be one more light to remind them of the people who loved and cared for Cameron right alongside them.

If you would like to share memories of Cameron, please feel free to write a comment with your story for all to read.
