Adopted Boy Scout Helps His Agency
Donation protected
Hello everyone!
My name is Zion Hayes-Brown and I have been a Boy Scout for 7 years. 17 years ago I was adopted by my family from the Another Choice adoption agency in Charlotte, NC. For my Eagle Scout project, I want to build a "Serenity Shed" for the kids who are temporarily living at the adoption agency.
The kids that live at the agency are between homes and many have anger issues. Ms. Ruth, the CEO of Another Choice, showed me the holes in the agency's walls that kids put there when they get frustrated. Some of the kids have even hit each other. Ms. Ruth dreams of a shed built in the backyard of the agency so the kids can go there to work out their frustrations on a punching bag instead of the walls or each other. There will also be a loveseat in the shed so they'll have a quiet place to sit and be alone, if they want.
I want to use my Eagle Scout project to make her dream come true!
If we collect enough money, in addition to the shed I want to install a picnic table, repair their fence and plant some flowers and bushes to make the area look nice. It's a big project, but Ms. Ruth has a BIG HEART. Without Ms. Ruth, I'm not sure where I'd be and I want to help her change the lives of other kids the way she changed mine!
Thank you for reading about my project and please share with your friends!
Yours in Scouting,
Zion Hayes-Brown
