Zip liner guide injured while saving boys life

We are Jen and Patrick Schiller, JP’s parents. JP was working at the Edge Zip lining facility out in Castle Rock, CO. Where there was an incident where a young child was coming down the line and got stuck. JP called over the walkie that he was going in for the rescue. There was some miscommunication and someone else came down the line. JP saw the other person coming down the line and did all he could to protect the child from the impact by putting himself in between the on coming zip liner and the child taking the full impact of the other zip liner. JP was knocked unconscious and does not remember much from the incident.

What he does know is that he has only been at the job a short time and was already planning on getting a 2nd job so he could support himself from his recent (less than a year) move out there from the Boston area. Now he is unable to work and even interview for a new job until he is healed. JP had a concussion and has been going to drs for pains in his leg, arm and head. While Edge will cover his medical bills they only pay 2/3 of his weekly pay check which will

not be enough to cover his rent and food bills.

Although we would love for him to come back home so we could take care of him while he heals. He loves it out there and has been so happy making Colorado his home. Please help him keep his dream real while he heals.

We can’t say enough of how proud we am of him for protecting the child and putting his life in jeopardy while doing so. He amazes me more each day. I always knew he was amazing and I’m happy that Colorado gets to know my amazing son too.
