John Z Wetmore is the host and producer of "Perils For Pedestrians" Television, started in 1996.
"Perils For Pedestrians" is an award-winning public affairs television series on 150 public access cable stations. It looks at problems confronting pedestrians in communities like yours, and solutions to those problems from across the United States and around the world.
According to the World Health Organization, more than 270,000 pedestrians lose their lives on the world's roads every year. This television series aims to bring attention to that problem.
Funds raised will be used to pay production expenses, including compensation for the producer.
While I will be grateful for monetary support, you can also help out just by writing your local government about pedestrian needs in your community. Your elected officials need to hear from you and your neighbors about missing sidewalks, dangerous intersections, and other problems that make it difficult for your children or your grandparents to walk in safety and comfort.
