Support the Herrera Family

It is with a very heavy heart that I write this with permission from the Herrera family.

Pablo/Paul (they/them) passed away in their sleep on Monday June 27th, leaving behind their partner Laura and 2 kids Lucy age 10 and Leo soon to be 6 as well as countless other family members, friends, and co-workers.

As you can imagine this has been absolutely devastating. Those of us that were so lucky to have Pablo in our lives can attest that a very special person left this world.

They were an empath. Dropping everything to be of service to a loved one. I alone can come up with countless times they ran to our family’s aid with no questions asked.

-Pablo and Laura were the first to arrive at the hospital when we had our twins, bourbon and pizza in hand. Sounds like them doesn’t it?

-Pablo ran to our rescue, Lucy in tow, when our nanny suddenly quit as my husband was walking out the door for a week long travel trip.

They were an incredible father to Leo and Lucy. Pablo loved adventuring with them whether it was teaching them correct knife skills, building a campfire, whittling a walking stick or taking them on countless trips to the zoo.

They were an incredible and passionate cook and an innovator of spice concoctions. The aftermath of their cooking was equally well known as their award winning meals.

The support you give today will aid this family to be able to pay for a beautiful memorial service and support Laura while she takes time away from work to grieve and be available for her kids.
