Kimberly Hoglund Smith is a woman who is so much to so many. She and her husband Bob were high school sweethearts who raised their family in Most Holy Redeemer parish in Evergreen Park. Their son Rob married Alyssa Zdano in 2018, and they recently welcomed beautiful little Amelia to the world. Their daughter Emma is a teacher of children with special needs. The Smiths are a warm, loving family that are guided by Kim’s devotion to them in every way.
There is no better way to describe Kim Smith than to call her selfless. Throughout her life, family and friends have regarded her as an angel on earth-someone you can always count on to help, to be in your corner, to have your back. She finds so much joy in giving to others in a myriad of ways, and would never say no to a request if fulfilling it was within her power. She is a very special person who now has found herself in a place where she herself is in need of help.
For several years Kim has been battling cancer. Her prognosis is very good, but as we all know, the cure can sometimes be worse than the illness. Several complications from her treatments have required lengthy hospital stays-the most recent included almost a week in the ICU. As truly grateful as we are that her doctors and nurses have been able to put her on the path to good health, those of us who love her worry about the medical expenses that undoubtedly lie ahead. Kim would be the last person to ask for any kind of help-the least of which would be for monetary aid. But this is our chance to make her life a little easier so she can focus on reaching a complete recovery as quickly as possible.
We thank you for your generosity. Any amount you can contribute will help to defray the staggering cost of her care.
