Support the Parkers while Gibby fights 4 his life

November 27th, 2022 at 5:28 AM was the most terrifying day of my life. My husband yelled “ally help me!” And I got out of bed to find him stumbling in the hallway. His words weren’t making any sense and he eventually became unconscious. I did everything I could to help him and I called 911 and he was transported via ambulance to Kings Daughters Medical Center. I was informed at 9 am that he had been intubated and was on a ventilator. I never imagined that my strong husband who has done everything for me for three years would be in this condition. He was in respiratory distress upon arrival which is why he was intubated. Today 12/1/22 his condition has worsened due to a few contributing factors. His body is not handling this fight as well as it should. The doctors have discovered that his has a mild cardiomegaly which is an enlarged heart. He also has fatty liver disease which in itself isn’t much cause for concern and is relatively common but it can lead to cirrhosis in severe cases. He is experiencing delerium tremens due to alcohol withdrawal and it is making it very difficult to wean him off of the ventilator because of the agitation and confusion. He is also suffering from multiple pulmonary embolisms and deep vein thrombosis. We are waiting on results from his echocardiogram to see if the clots are effecting his heart.
My husband is the strongest person I know and to see him in this condition is heart breaking to say the least. My husband is the primary bread winner in our family. We have two children together, and five kids altogether. Our children are our son who is 2 months old, Our daughter will be 2 on 12/10/22, my oldest son who is 7, and my bonus boys who are 4 & 5. With the holidays coming up and bills still being due and kids to take care of im at a loss. I’m working with his employer on applying for short term disability but I don’t know if it will pay out or if it’s just to secure his position. I’m also unable to work right now as I am staying in the ICU with my husband every day. I tried working from home but I just can’t do it right now because my mind is elsewhere and I can’t focus. My husband has medical insurance but will still have astronomical medical bills. My husband has a long road to recovery ahead of him and will likely not be able to return to work for a couple of months. I’m asking for help to cover some of our bills for atleast 3 months to get us ahead so he can get the help that he needs. I will be taking on the role as the primary care giver and the primary source of income for this family when I am able to return to work. Any and all help is appreciated. I will update on my husbands condition as I find out more information. Please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers. I have never been so scared in my life.
