My name is Gina Ramacci and I am a Firefighter/ Paramedic with Hillsborough County Fire & Rescue in Tampa, FL. My job is to protect, serve and rescue every day. It is what I have been trained to do, it is what I love to do.
On October 14th, those instincts to protect and to rescue kicked in when I met Red. Red is a beautiful puppy with the soul of an angel. How he can be so loving when his short life has been filled with such abuse is beyond me. How he can be so sick physically because of this abuse and yet have such a pure, sweet, and kind heart is difficult to comprehend. It has truly broken my heart. I took one look into his eyes and felt a love beyond words. I looked into his eyes and seen the good that he can do in this world. I wanted to heal him physically and emotionally. I want to help take all of the hurt away and share him with the community. What an amazing therapy dog he will make.
It has been an upward battle medically. He is in and out of the hospital fighting infections, fighting for breaths and fighting to stay alive. We have spent so much but how do you put a price on life? He deserves to live and I dream of the day where all he has to do is that, live. I’m asking you to help me get to that goal. Any amount helps and any amount will go to a great cause, helping Red be the puppy that he was meant to be.
