Help Dave rebuild his home

Hello Friends and Family, I am fundraising for my friend David Machita. David lives in Port Providence, PA just outside of Phoenixville. Hurricane Ida destroyed his home. Please consider a donation to help him get back on his feet. Read his story below.

September 2nd at 1:30am; I'm sitting in the attic of my 2 bedroom ranch house in Port Providence, PA. Watching Hurricane Ida's flood waters climb the wooden frame of the Pull Down Steps that I had ascended a few minutes before. Suddenly, I hear 3 Upper Providence Water Rescue Divers telling me to evacuate. I descend and walk through thigh high water in my living room. Lights are on. Kathy Orr (FOX29) is reporting on the storm. I fear that I'm going to be electrocuted.

The men place me in a life vest, pulling me aboard a red inflatable boat with black outboard motor...just like I'd seen rescuing the unfortunate on TV. Now I was one of those being rescued.

Vaccinated and suffering issues brought on by Long Haul COVID-19: I spent a sleepless night at the Red Cross Shelter. The next day a friend drives me to see my house. The entire scene on my Walnut Street is Apocalyptic. Entering my driveway, I see my mailbox bent to the earth. My Jeep Cherokee had been completely submerged. Now destroyed. Water had filled my 8' high basement and rose 6' up the walls on the first floor. My detached garage was flooded up to the roof. Destroyed.

Any help will be greatly appreciated as I rebuild my life.
