House fire

I never thought I’d write or organize one of these, but now I see why people do. To be honest, my mom will probably give me hell for even doing this, but here’s the story:

My mother’s house tragically burned down Friday, May 26th, 2023 around 3 am while they were asleep. By the grace of God and stranger driving by, she and my stepdad were able to make it out alive. I’m so thankful for that. While the fact that they’re alive is most important and material things can be replaced, this is the most heartbreaking thing I’ve had to see my mom go through. There were many items that will never be able to be replaced, but I’d like to try and do what I can to make any part of this nightmare easier on them. Most of the locals know her house because of all the blood, sweat, tears & love she poured into it. My husband and I even had our wedding there. Besides her kids and grandkids, this house was her pride and joy. It was an original cabin from the 1800’s that she restored and made her home.

If you know my mom, you know that she has worked hard everyday for what she has. You’ll also know that she’s the type of person who would do anything for anyone, but accepting help is not her strong suit. When I say they lost everything, I mean they ran out of the house in their pajamas, no shoes, no phones, NOTHING. So, I’m asking for help for them. Any penny will help them get started again . And if you don’t have a penny- prayers, love and positive thoughts their way will be greatly appreciated. ❤️
