Victim of break in and vandalism

My home was intruded at knife point by a former lesser of my mothers rental property. He did extensive damage to my mothers house, as well as broke down my door. This attempt to kill me resulted in police shooting him to protect my family and himself. My mother age 82 and myself are both on fixed income and do not have the money to have my door repaired so that it can be secured, nor do we have the 1,000 deductible for the homeowners insurance to repair the extensive damage that was done to the home in which the assailant incured.
