Hi, my name is Zoe Waits.

Thank you so much for taking a moment of your time to read this. I've gone back and forth on whether or not to make one of these, but I realize that I can't rebuild my life with sheer willpower alone.

In 2021, my worst nightmare became my waking reality.

After several months of extreme physical and mental abuse by an evil, sadistic man who decided that he deserved to "own" me, I was found with my head split open, my T1 vertebrae fractured, my six front teeth broken or cracked and my face so swollen and covered in my own blood that I was unrecognizable. Thankfully, I was rescued and brought back to my home state. I am now in intensive outpatient trauma treatment, and have been working tirelessly to heal the deep physical and psychological wounds that I have endured. I suffer from agoraphobia (fear of leaving the house) and frequent, debilitating panic attacks and bouts of disassociation that make day to day life extremely difficult to navigate.

Anything donated will go toward my current rent, securing safe, long term housing and medical/daily expenses (including tooth repair and obtaining a service animal to help safely guide me through my day to day tasks). I have been quoted around $8,000 for the procedure to fix my front teeth, and have based the rest on deposit/first/last month rental rates in my area.

Eventually, I aim to be able to help other people who find themselves in similarly horrific situations to my own find solace, assistance and ultimately healing.
