Zoe's Battle
Zoe's Story
Friday night I rushed Zoe to hospital with a fever, shakes and mottled arms. She quickly declined once we arrived at hospital to a state of unconsciousness. Belmont and John Hunter Drs and Nurses have done an incredible job helping her stay with us and as of yesterday and today start to recover
Zoe caught Influenza A from school on Tuesday / Wednesday. Just the regular thing we had already dealt with over the holidays, sore throat, cough, fever. The antibodies fighting her flu have become confused and instead went to her brain. It is like meningitis but worse.
We will now be in hospital for an undetermined amount of time for recovery, although as this is an extremely rare condition and it's her brain so it will be slow. The Drs only see cases like this a handful of times.
We have had some positive things happen today and hope for more tomorrow. Her dad and I have been by her bed all day talking to her.
Please please send all your positive energy into the universe for our beautiful strong girl.-Sarah McBride
As a friend of Sarah I am creating this page to try and help take some of the pressure off Sarah now that she cannot work and have no date as to when life will be back to normal. As we all know bills never stop no matter what is happening in our lives.
This money will be Bank Transferred into Zoe's account to be used for medical expenses for Zoe, bills, loss of income for Ben and Sarah and travel to and from the Hospital.
Every little bit helps and I know how much she will appreciate you.
Sarah will update when she can.
