Zoe's "Pay It Forward" Fund
(On behalf of Mary and the late Harry Knott) Zoe Walsh was our precious granddaughter, who was born with an extremely rare genetic form of epilepsy (MMPSI), and was taken from us at the tender age of just 8 months old. Zoe faced her illness with strength and courage, and filled our lives with love for the short time she was with us. During that time Zoe spent 3 months in Temple Street Hospital in Dublin, and for the last few months of her life at home, required 24-hour nursing care. While she was in Temple Street we became acutely aware of the financial strain placed on families who have to leave their home lives to be with their sick children in Dublin. We were fortunate enough to be able to meet the burden of this but also we are conscious of the fact that others may not be. So, in Zoe's memory, we are starting this fund to help families who find themselves in this situation. It is difficult enough to bear the stress of a child's illness without the added worry of financial problems. Your support for these families would be greatly appreciated.
